In the meantime, Selena Gomez has insisted that she cannot “sit still” after George Floyd’s death.

The star of the charts went to Instagram to express their anger over social injustice when protests appeared on the streets of Minneapolis in numerous cities across the U.S. in response to Floyd’s death.

Selena – who has 178 million followers on the photo sharing platform – wrote: “I’ve spent the past 24 hours processing everything. Nothing that someone says can take back what happened. But we can and we all have to make sure this happens. ” Take action. Too many black lives have been taken from us for far too long. You deserve better. You deserve to be heard. We all have to do better and not sit still while this injustice continues. #blacklivesmatter #justiceforgeorgefloyd #icantbreathe (sic) ”
