46. Let’s continue with the second half! Los Blancos are more than used to falling behind, it remains to be seen whether they will be able to catch up again.

HALFTIME! Real Madrid dominated FC Barcelona for almost the entire first half and still trailed 0-1. A goal by Karim Benzema after twelve minutes does not count because of offside. Then, in just one moment, Los Blancos show themselves unfocused and with Éder Militão there is also a player in white who gives the Catalans the lead. The game as a whole is not lacking in intensity, but the pace needs to be increased in the second half to break through the Barça defence, which has been quite concentrated up until now.

45. There are two minutes of stoppage time in the first half. Real is still on the trigger.

43. Another high ball lands in the five, but Ter Stegen is there in time, brings his right arm up and clarifies the situation. Valverde can get hold of the second ball, but can’t ignite another threat.

41. There was the gap! Dani Carvajal makes a great run into the penalty area, Toni Kroos sees that and brings in the perfect cross. However, the defender takes the ball directly and is therefore unable to put the shot precisely on target.

39. Barça is good at the back and manages to take the pace out of the white ballet. Ancelotti’s squad is working flat out to find the critical gap.

37. Again Valverde wants to put Benzema in the limelight with a cross. However, the striker still has a hard time asserting himself and finishing today.

36. Real still have just under ten minutes to reset everything in this first half. The game becomes increasingly heated and gains in intensity.

34. While Kessié briefly remains in his own penalty area after a defensive action, Real continue to play and Modrić tries a long-range shot that goes over the goal.

30. Out of nowhere, the Catalans take the lead here. Real continues to attack happily, but makes life difficult for themselves with a moment of inattention.

26. BARCELONA FC LEAD!! Camavinga plays a clumsy back pass after a Real throw-in, which Gavi easily intercepts and passes on to Franck Kessié. He shoots Thibaut Courtois from close range. The Belgian with a strong reaction, but Militão takes the ball and stumbles it into the goal himself. Nacho calls, but can’t coordinate his feet well enough to scrape the ball off the line.

24. First yellow card of the game: Vinícius grabs Frenkie de Jong’s neck in a tackle and pulls the Dutchman down with him. The Brazilian then complained loudly to the referee.

22. Marcos Alonso puts the ball in the box from the right half-field and Militão himself clears with a header.

21. There is the first free kick for the Blaugrana. Éder Militão prevents Gavi from receiving the ball after a throw-in and catches the youngster on the foot.

19. The home side are much more active, penetrating Barça’s penalty area every minute, from which very little has come offensively so far.

17. Raphinha stops Nacho in his own penalty area and White gets another corner. Gavi parries the ball to the next standard, which Marc-André ter Stegen fists well out of the dangerous zone.

15. Now the corner for Real Madrid! Toni Kroos puts the ball in the sixteen, Antonio Rüdiger is lurking but can’t get to it. The defense ends up with Modrić, whose shot attempt is blocked directly.

12. Karim Benzema makes it 1-0 from close range, but is offside! Vinícius serves the French with a half-high cross from the left edge of the penalty area and he slides in wonderfully. A pity!

11. A cross from the right half-field almost reaches Karim Benzema’s head were it not for Araújo, who prevents worse.

10. Xavi’s team is now venturing a little out of their own half and becoming more offensively active.

8. The Catalans get their first corner, which they take briefly. However, Modrić is there when the ball is passed into the penalty area and wants to initiate a counterattack. However, the attempt fails.

7. Federico Valverde makes a nice side move to Vinícius, who fights his way into the box but only gets a shot from a pretty tight angle as Ronald Araújo stays on target.

5. Vinícius Júnior tries to assert himself against two opponents in midfield, but gets stuck. Barça defends concentrated and puts Real’s offensive early.

3. Los Blancos stand very high in the opening minutes and attack early to put pressure on the Catalans.

1. After just 30 seconds, Luka Modrić gets the first shot, beating Jules Koundé in the penalty area. He shoots from a short distance from a slightly too acute angle, but misses the goal and was previously offside anyway.

1. The first 90 of a total of at least 180 minutes of the Copa semifinals are running!

Side selection is underway – the kick-off is about to begin!

Only five minutes until the first of three Clásicos in the next 34 days starts! There’s a great atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabéu, of course, and while Los Blancos’ anthem is already playing, the players are still waiting in the tunnel.

BARCELONA FC LINEUP: Now the eleven of the Catalans, who are known to have to do without Lewandowski, Pedri and Dembélé, are also available. Andreas Christensen is also not in the starting line-up, and Marcos Alonso is defending for him. Scores: Araújo, Koundé, Alonso, Balde, Kessie, Busquets, De Jong, Raphinha, Torres, Gavi.

Bank: Peña, Tenas, Christensen, García, Alba, Roberto, Torre, Fati, Alarcón, Estanis.

LINE-UP REAL MADRID: The starting XI of Los Blancos is official. And this is how she looks: Courtois – Carvajal, Militão, Rudiger, Nacho – Modrić, Camavinga, Kroos – Valverde, Benzema, Vinícius.

Bank: Lunin, Lopez, Vallejo, Odriozola, Vazquez, Ceballos, Tchouamen, Asensio, Hazard, Rodrigo, Mariano, Alvaro.

Conclusion: Camavinga prevails! The number 12 is preferred to Tchouaméni in the central defensive midfield, otherwise Ancelotti sends the expected eleven into the race with Nacho, among others, at left-back.

THE CLÁSICO MARATHON BEGINS: This semi-final first leg is just the beginning. Barça are already expecting the Madrilenians for the league duel at the Camp Nou on March 19th and about two weeks later, on April 5th, the Copa second leg is already on the agenda.

PERSONAL: The good news: Rodrygo Goes has recovered from his muscle injury and is back in the squad. The bad news: Still missing Ferland Mendy and david praises. Otherwise, Los Blancos have unlike Barcelona no more serious failures to complain about, and Ancelotti also has to take part alvaro rodriguez again his most convincing offensive ace up his sleeve. It remains to be seen who the Italian will choose in midfield. As always, you can read more important information about the personnel situation and the expected line-up in our preliminary report.

HELLO AND GOOD AFTERNOON! The next Clásico is coming up! In the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona meet first at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. The last time Los Blancos were in the semi-finals was in the 2018/19 season, then also against arch-rivals Catalonia. In the first leg you could still win a 1:1, but the second leg was lost with 0:3. Will it be different this time? At least Barça does not start the game with the best conditions, because with the Retired from the Europa League against Manchester United and the Lost 1-0 to UD Almería in LaLiga, Xavi’s squad received two good punches in the pit of the stomach. In addition to two other players, the Blaugrana are also missing striker Robert Lewandowski. That could certainly give Los Blancos an advantage, especially since there is still a score to be settled after the 3-1 defeat in January in the Supercopa final – although Carlo Ancelotti did not declare this as the main motivation at the press conference: “We don’t feel like it because we want to take revenge for the Supercopa. We feel like it because we’re close to a title.” Whether revenge or not, it will always be exciting and as always REAL TOTAL-Live ticker included. The game can also be viewed either on BILDplus or SPORTDIGITAL.
