Head to Karamoja, an arid region in northern Uganda where nomadic herder tribes fight for access to water. Global warming is causing increasingly regular droughts in this part of East Africa. Last year, at least 900 people died of starvation in Karamoja following poor harvests. These climate variations also force pastoralists to encroach on the territories of rival clans. The violence has caused thousands of deaths since 2018, and 500,000 cattle have disappeared… Report by Clément Di Roma and Lucie Mouillaud, on the border between Uganda and Kenya.
