Climate change in Wiener Neustadt and Wels underexposed – Environment & Climate

Vienna – The Court of Auditors (RH) is taking the cities of Wiener Neustadt and Wels to court. It is said that both cities are failing to take measures to adapt to climate change in the report submitted on Friday. Both communities and the population living in them are facing hot times. Because both are in dark red zones. These are the areas in Austria where the number of hot days will triple or quadruple to 31 or 25 days in the next 50 years. There was already a foretaste of these times: the groundwater level sank by ten meters, and various gravel ponds in the Wiener Neustadt district had dried up.
