Cloud gaming: the Nvidia GeForce Now RTX 3080 subscription now available on a monthly basis

Three months after its launch, the RTX 3080 subscription plan for Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud gaming service is becoming a little more accessible – not because of a price drop, but thanks to a new subscription option with monthly payments. While the only offer available so far called for a cash payment of €99.99 for six months of access, it is now possible to prefer an option at €19.99 per month.

This new offer is obviously not an excellent deal in absolute terms: considered from the angle of the price/subscription time ratio, it even represents an increase of 20% compared to the half-yearly offer. But since it comes with no commitment, it can be perfectly suited for those who would like to subscribe for only one or two months, the time to complete a particular game, or simply to try the service without spending too much money up front.

For the record, the RTX 3080 formula is the most high-end variant of the GeForce Now service, positioning itself above the free and “priority access” formulas. It offers similar in-game performance to the RTX 3080, which gives it its name, as well as a video stream of up to 1440p at 120Hz, or 4K at 60Hz with HDR, depending on the gaming client used (desktop or Nvidia Shield TV box). Finally, it benefits from the latest architectural innovations developed by Nvidia for its servers, which allows it to offer extremely low latency, comparable to that of a PC or a “local” game console. Finally, remember that the price of the subscription does not include access to any game: these must be acquired separately on the various supported PC game stores, such as Steam, Gog or the Epic Games Store, among others.
