Vienna – Last year, according to the Association of the Petroleum Industry, around 240 million liters less fuel were filled up in Austria than in 2022. This means that CO2 emissions from transport have fallen by around 600,000 tonnes, according to an analysis by the Austrian Transport Club (VCÖ). At around 20 million tons, traffic emitted over 40 percent more CO2 than in 1990, reported the VCÖ. He called for additional measures to achieve the climate goals.
