The Cockroach Janta Party has officially thrown its weight behind the Congress-led INDIA bloc’s upcoming demonstrations, narrowing a widening gap between opposition factions ahead of a major capital showdown.
On October 28, 2026, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announced that his youth-led outfit would back the opposition coalition’s November 1 protest at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, News18 reported. The rally targets the controversial Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and renews demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Convergence at Ramlila Maidan
Dipke shared the endorsement on social media with the tagline “GYANU MUST GO!” alongside the declaration “Nation above all!” according to News18. The CJP’s formal statement argues that the Special Intensive Revision exercise has triggered widespread concern over the removal of eligible voters from electoral lists. Invoking the constitutional legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the party asserted that universal adult suffrage guarantees an equal political voice regardless of socioeconomic standing.

Despite the shared objective, Dipke left open the question of whether he and fellow CJP members—including Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka—would physically share the stage with senior opposition figures during the Sunday demonstration, as noted by News18.
Friction and Parallel Agitations
The endorsement bridges weeks of distinct political separation between the CJP and mainstream opposition parties. The CJP previously organized an October 10 demonstration in Delhi that the Congress declined to join due to competing party schedules, though other regional outfits such as the Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, Left parties, and the DMK offered backing.

Relations between the CJP and the Congress have occasionally carried friction, particularly given Dipke’s prior operational work with the Aam Aadmi Party between 2020 and 2023. Yet, as both political forces zero in on electoral roll integrity, their independent tracks have begun to converge.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has pushed back against the timing of the November 1 event. BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad publicly alleged that Rahul Gandhi intentionally selected November 1 to hurt the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, noting that several regional parties initially sought a rescheduled date. Rahul Gandhi countered the criticism on social media by thanking the BJP and its allies for publicizing the opposition’s campaign.
With Delhi Police granting a conditional no-objection certificate for the Ramlila Maidan program to run between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., the coalition prepares to test its unified momentum against the Election Commission.
Unresolved Stage Presence and Coordination
While the CJP and the broader opposition have aligned on opposing the Special Intensive Revision and demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, it remains unconfirmed whether CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and his colleagues will ultimately take their places alongside senior INDIA bloc leaders on the platform at Ramlila Maidan this Sunday.
