The comedian details the circumstances of his friend’s death last June.

Four months after the death of his friend Guillaume Bats at the age of 36, Jérémy Ferrari spoke for the first time on Monday on the set of Clique the circumstances of the comedian’s disappearance.

On June 1, Jérémy Ferrari was to meet Guillaume Bats. Without news of him, he went to his home. “Guillaume was a fairly lazy person, who liked to enjoy life, but he responded,” he begins.

“So the delay surprised me a little, but not responding was not possible, so I really had a very bad feeling,” he continues before recounting his arrival at his friend’s home:

“I arrived, I heard the dog in the apartment so I broke down the door and I came back and I found Guillaume there. It’s always extremely shocking,” confides Jérémy Ferrari, for whom Guillaume Bats was “a little brother”.

“We didn’t expect it at all”

“Guillaume was more than a comedian. He was a little brother to me. We were together all the time so obviously it’s extremely traumatic,” explains the stage man.

Jérémy Ferrari explains that the death of Guillaume Bats, who suffered from brittle bone disease, surprised him: “A lot of people told me ‘you suspected he was going to leave early’, but no , not at all, actually.” And to conclude:

“We had lots of testimonies from people who had the same disease as him, because he had the recessive form, the one that ‘improves’ with time. We didn’t expect it at all. It’s upsetting , it was a huge blow to everyone.”

Pro of black humor

Last June, Jérémy Ferrari refused to “express himself on (his) sentence in the media or in the press”: Guillaume was my little brother and I would like us to focus on him, his talent, his courage , its strength, its light,” he then declared.

A fan of black humor, Guillaume Bats began doing sketches very early on, before opening for Anthony Kavanagh, Jean-Marie Bigard and Comte de Bouderbala.

He also formed a deep friendship with Jérémy Ferrari in the mid-2010s, performing his first tours during his Zenith tour. The comedian then produced his only one on stage Hors cadre, and wrote with him his last show Inshallah.
