After his death, General Pham Ngu Lao was conferred by the King as the “Superior Blessed God” and was built a temple by the villagers of Phu Ung right on the old house of his family.

Every year, local people take the 11th day of the first lunar month (the day General Pham Ngu Lao went out to fight the enemy) to organize a traditional festival, commemorating the merits of the talented general and the hero who contributed to the war. Together with the Tran court, they defeated the Mongol invaders, affirming great historical values and arousing the pride of their homeland.
