The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in collaboration with the Indonesian National Zakat Agency (Baznas) will hold a Ramadhan Safari to Wash the Wounds of Palestine in 60 mosques throughout Indonesia during the month of Ramadan. Later, this activity will be attended by a delegation of Palestinian Sheikhs.

“The Ramadhan Safari Program Washes Palestine’s Wounds because it travels around during Ramadan to deliver da’wah in 60 mosques (across Indonesia),” said MUI Chairman for Foreign Relations, Prof. Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim at the Ramadhan Safari event to Wash Palestine’s Wounds at the MUI Head Office, Jakarta, Sunday (10/3).

Sudarnoto said the program also aims to condemn the attacks that Israel continues to carry out against Palestinians.

“The Ramadhan Safari Program to Wash Palestinian Wounds was carried out because people in the West Bank and beyond are being hurt by the Israeli genocide,” he continued.

He explained that there would be 11 Sheikhs from Palestine who would explain the condition of Palestine to a number of citizens in Indonesia. This program will start running on March 11 2024 for the next 20 days.

11 sheikh These include Sheikh Sadeq Yasser Aqlaae who will go on safari in Riau, Sheikh Fayez SA Elyaseh in Central Java, Sheikh Wesam Hasan Soliman Hassan Zaurob in South Sulawesi, Sheikh Ahmad Bilal Hashem Abuzaid in Banten, Sheikh Dr Sameeh KA Hajjaj in Jakarta, Sheikh Ibrahim Mahmoud Mustafa Abu Mahmoud in West Java, Sheikh Ahmad Hassan Muhammad Husain in the Riau Islands, Sheikh Hamza Khaled Mahmoud Abdallah in East Java, Sheikh Ahmad Mohamad Said Mokalalaty in Jakarta, Sheikh Moutashem Nawaf Harafsheh in South Kalimantan, and Sheikh Belal NS Abujazar in West Kalimantan .

“The opportunity for the holy month of Ramadan through the Ramadhan Safari to Wash the Wounds of Palestine is intended to provide the latest knowledge and information about Palestine so that people understand what needs to be done. (Assistance) Can offer prayers for all Palestinians and contribute to Palestinian humanitarian programs,” said Prof. Sudarnoto.

Furthermore, he also emphasized that Indonesia consistently supports Palestinian independence. MUI also condemned the attacks frequently carried out by Israel against Palestinians.

“The Indonesian people will not stop fighting for the Palestinian people,” he stressed.

Apart from this program, MUI also declared Israeli products. There are 5 points in the declaration. First, the acts of genocide carried out by Israel and its supporters against the Palestinian people constitute war crimes and serious human rights violations. So, the MUI calls on the entire Indonesian nation and the world community to continue fighting for Palestinian independence and stop Israel’s genocide against Palestine.

Second, the world Muslim Ummah is like one body. So, the MUI invites Muslims throughout the world and other world communities to jointly wash the wounds of Palestine through all potential channels, including political, economic and cultural diplomacy.

Third, call on Muslims to start this month of Ramadan to no longer use products produced by companies affiliated with Israel and their supporters, such as products for consumption for sahur, breaking the fast, and Eid delivery goods (hampers) and other products.

Fourth, encourage all people to switch to using domestic products that are not affiliated with Israel and its supporters, as a form of teaching love for the Motherland as part of the faith (hubbul wathan minal iman), or choosing Palestinian products that have been circulating in the Indonesian market, especially since Indonesia and Palestine have signed a trade agreement regarding preferential tariffs where there are 61 Palestinian products that enjoy 0% tariffs, including nuts, engine bolts, soap, ceramics, among others. and spices.
