During the Lunar New Year holidays in 2023, Long Thanh airport only works during office hours, not night shifts.
Mr. Kieu Cao Hung shared, most of the officials and workers at Long Thanh airport are from the northern and central provinces, they stick with the construction site all year, everyone wants to come home and reunite with their family on Tet holiday. However, to ensure that the project is not interrupted, the contractor has to work throughout Tet. In order to encourage workers, during the Lunar New Year 2023, the contractor and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam spend money to support and organize Tet fun activities for employees working at the construction site.
Long Thanh Airport with a design capacity of 100 million passengers/year, was built on an area of 5,000 hectares in Binh Son commune, Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province. This is the largest traffic project ever invested in our country, started in 2021, expected to be put into operation in 2025. Currently, the Long Thanh airport project is implementing the ground leveling package, up to now, the consortium of contractors has dug and filled 45 million m3 of land; in which, the leveling at the passenger terminal construction area has been completed.
