A fire broke out on a container ship from Maersk off the coast of the West African land. The ship was en route from Rotterdam to Malaysia. The crew of the ship is safe.

The fire was discovered yesterday when the crew of the Marie Maersk smoke came from containers. It is not clear what the cause of the fire is.

The crew stays on board to control the fire. Two tugboats with extinguishing equipment towards the ship were also deployed, says Maersk.
