Manama: Undersecretary of Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) under the Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, announced that the service to renew work permits for expatriates outside Bahrain without coming to Bahrain is starting.
The service is coordinated by the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), covering expatriates working in the commercial and government sectors, registered workers and domestic workers. Until now, if you want to renew your visa, you can only do it while you are in Bahrain. But from now on, even if you are outside Bahrain when you need to renew your visa, you can renew your visa there.
Residency permit renewal is serviced through the Bahrain National Portal. The work permit can be renewed through the Pravasi Management System or through official LMRA channels. NPRA Under Secretary informed that the development and modernization is going forward with the cooperation of the government and private institutions.
Meanwhile, LMRA CEO Nibraz Muhammad Talib appreciated the strong partnership and collaboration between LMRA and NPRA. He said employers will be allowed to renew work permits of employees outside Bahrain online, while the renewal process must be before the expiry date. He pointed out that this step is in the framework of increasing the speed of work and meeting the needs of business owners and investors of expatriate workers. The employer can also renew the work permit through the expatriate management system by selecting the duration of the work permit and completing the payment process.
