A month after the start of the school year. The Minister of Health and Prevention Aurélien Rousseau announces this Friday that the vaccination campaign against the papillomavirus, promised at the start of the year by Emmanuel Macron, will begin on Monday, October 2 in colleges.
“It is a vaccine which makes it possible to eradicate cancers of the cervix but also of the vagina of the vulva, of the anus”, listed the minister with our colleagues from Brut, “there are countries which have succeeded in eradicating these diseases. It’s in your hands.”
A communication campaign will be launched from Monday 4 September. In France, the papillomavirus vaccine – which requires two injections – has been recommended for young girls since 2007, and only since January 1, 2021 for boys.
“We have the chance to protect ourselves collectively so we try to seize it all together”, concluded Minister Aurélien Rousseau.
