Florida: The opening match of the 2024 Copa America football tournament will be held in Atlanta. Mercedes-Benz Stadium was chosen as the opening venue. The final match will be played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, South Florida.
Football governing bodies from South America, North and Central America and the Caribbean made the first joint announcement on venues on Monday. Other venues and the schedule for the 16-team tournament have not been disclosed.
Atlanta Mercedes-Benz Stadium, one of the main stadiums in MLS, has 71,000 seats. There is now an artificial surface. A grass court will be constructed above this for the tournament. The inaugural match is on June 20. As the defending champions, Lionel Messi-led Argentina will be the opening team.
