The Scientific Committee to Combat the New Corona Virus has set a definition of cases of corona infection within the updated treatment protocol it issued today.
Masrawy was the only one to publish the new protocol in its seventh edition, after it was modified according to the epidemiological situation of the pandemic and the emergence of new mutations, by adding a number of drugs and deleting a number of others.
The scientific committee divided the cases into 3 main categories that must be dealt with until the infection is proven, including:
First, the suspected cases:
These are cases that suffer from fever, cough, or have 3 of the following symptoms: fever, cough, general weakness, headache, fatigue, muscle pain, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Or are cases with severe acute respiratory infection defined as acute respiratory infection with symptoms within 10 days of presentation (cough, fever, hospitalization)
Secondly, the possible cases
Cases that have the clinical symptoms that have been mentioned with confirmation by chest x-ray that show results suggestive of COVID-19 in addition to the onset of loss of taste and smell in the absence of any other specific cause, or the death of an adult with respiratory distress who has been in contact with these cases or Epidemiologically linked to a group with at least one confirmed case.
Taking into account the appearance of fuzzy opacity in the lung through rays or thick side lines in the lung.
Third, the confirmed case
It is the case in which a person has confirmation by analysis that he is infected with the Corona virus, and the PCR test by taking a swab from the nose is the preferred test for diagnosing corona cases.
