107 hospitalizations in one week in Switzerland, 2 dead

There have been some 154 cases and 15 hospitalizations per day since last Tuesday. Virus circulation remains low.

Valais has the lowest incidence in French-speaking Switzerland, with 10 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the past 14 days. Swiss average: 25.

1076 additional cases, 107 hospitalizations and 2 new deaths recorded in Switzerland and Liechtenstein: this is the assessment of the pandemic, according to data from the Federal Office of Public Health (OFSP) communicated on Tuesday.

According to these figures covering the last seven days, there have therefore been some 154 cases and 15 hospitalizations per day on average. The virus continues to circulate little but it is slightly more than the previous period, with then around 120 cases and 13 hospitalizations per day.

The fourteen-day incidence rate in Switzerland is 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. It stood at 22 the previous week.

In the last seven days, 11,065 tests have been carried out. The PCR test positivity rate is 11.5%. The intensive care unit occupancy rate is 73.6%: 1.5% Covid patients and 72.1% non-Covid.

In total, since the start of the pandemic, Switzerland has counted 14,022 deaths, 64,720 hospitalizations and 4,411,059 people who tested positive for coronavirus.

69.8% of the population has received at least one dose of vaccine and 10.9% of the population has received a dose in the last six months.
