UKRAINIAN DRONES IN CRIMEA
Russia said on Thursday that it had neutralized nine drones overnight and in the morning over the Crimea, a peninsula annexed by Russia, said the local governor installed by Moscow, Sergei Aksionov.
“During the past night and in the morning, nine drones were detected over the territory of the Republic of Crimea,” Aksionov said on Telegram, adding that there were no casualties. “Six aircraft were shot down by anti-aircraft forces”, while three others “were disabled” before landing, he added.
One of the drones exploded in the village of Doukuchayevo, in the center of the peninsula, smashing the windows of several houses, according to Mr Aksionov. Drone attacks once morest Russian territory and the Crimean peninsula annexed in 2014 have increased in recent weeks, following the announcement of a counter-offensive by kyiv.
