Good to know: If you can still see the spider after the bite, take a picture to be sure, or (even better) catch the specimen with a glass. That way it can be identified more easily. If you experience more severe symptoms that require a visit to the emergency room, this can help you get help more quickly.
1. Cool and elevate the body
If you’re bitten by a spider and the area turns red, burns, and itches, your best bet is to elevate and cool the affected part of your body. This works particularly well with an ice pack, a cold compress or a piece of ice that you wrap in a piece of cloth. The cold has an anti-inflammatory and decongestant effect and can even relieve pain and itching.

3. Don’t scratch!
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a mosquito bite, a tick bite or a spider bite. Even if the temptation is great: Under no circumstances scratch the puncture site!
