COVAX will close on December 31, 2023, having delivered nearly 2 billion vaccine doses to 146 economies and averted approximately 2.7 million deaths in the AMC’s low-income participating economies.
COVAX’s end-to-end efforts helped low-income economies achieve two-dose coverage of 57%, compared to a global average of 67%.
Low- and lower-middle-income economies will continue to receive COVID-19 vaccines and delivery support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in 2024 and 2025, with 83 million doses requested so far for 2024 from 58 economies.
