A woman was the victim of a kidnapping in São Paulo and remained for about 24 hours in the hands of criminals until she was located in a favela.
According to the incident report, the victim, a 40-year-old publicist, was approached by bandits around 9:30 pm on Wednesday (23) when looking for a vehicle at a rental company in Pinheiros, in the west zone.
Armed, the criminals forced her to get into a vehicle. The victim reported to investigators that he drove through the city until he was left in captivity. At the scene, she had her cell phone and bank cards taken.
Rota police officers received an anonymous tip on Thursday night (24) about an ongoing kidnapping in the Jardim Panorama favela, in the Morumbi region, in the west zone.
The victim was found in a shack on Rua Pedro Avancine, near the marginal Pinheiros. The bandits managed to escape.
During investigations, police officers found that bank transactions had been directed to accounts of people residing in Rio Grande do Norte.

Through the exchange of information between civil police officers of the Division Specialized in Investigating and Combating Organized Crime and agents of the Civil and Military Police of São Paulo, it was possible to arrest three men in the cities of Extremoz and Parnamirim.
According to the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Norte, the woman was assaulted and was forced to transfer more than R$200,000 to the accounts of four suspects on Rio Grande do Norte soil.
The detainees confessed to participating in the crime and, according to the folder, claimed that they were only responsible for receiving the amounts, having transferred a part to the kidnappers in São Paulo, who would have planned the entire criminal action.
The action also resulted in the seizure of a 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition.

The case was registered by the 89th DP (Portal do Morumbi) as theft and extortion. According to the São Paulo Security Secretariat, investigations are continuing to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the kidnapping.
