Cristiano Ronaldo Seeks Recovery of €19.9 Million Emoluments from Juventus Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic

Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo wants to recover emoluments, which amount to 19.9 million euros, left outstanding during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

This money corresponds to the amount that the former player of the Turin club (from 2018 to 2021) had agreed not to receive immediately during confinement. During the period from March 9 to June 22, 2020, the world of football came to a standstill which could put some clubs in difficulty due to the lack of recorded revenue.

The Italian daily specifies that Juventus had requested efforts and even salary freezes from the players on two occasions. In 2020 first, to the team and coach of that year (Maurizio Sarri), then in 2021, through individual negotiations with the players.

Dybala recovered €3 million in salary arrears

Two years after his departure from Juventus, CR7 would therefore still not have recovered this sum and would be on the verge of taking action against the Old Lady. The Argentinian Paulo Dybala (2015-2022 at Juventus), who was in the same situation, reached an agreement with the Italian club to recover around three million in salary arrears.
