Crocs to Launch Blue Dinoco Lightning McQueen Clogs for Pixar Cars Anniversary

Crocs is expanding its partnership with Disney and Pixar to release the Cars x Crocs Lightning McQueen Dinoco Classic Clog on September 16, 2026. The new footwear arrives as part of a collection celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original Cars film.

Dinoco Design and Inspiration

Moving away from the character’s traditional red racing colors, the new clog features a bright blue palette with orange and white graphics. According to WWD, the design is based on a daydream sequence from the first film in which Owen Wilson’s character, Lightning McQueen, imagines the glamorous life of racing for the prestigious Dinoco team before ultimately choosing to remain loyal to Rust-eze.

The shoe maintains the molded car shape used in previous McQueen releases, featuring a smiling grille and windshield eyes on the front. Specific design elements include:

• The number “95” printed along the side, which House of Heat° notes is a nod to 1995, the year of Pixar’s first film release.
• Dinoco branding located on the strap and a newly added oversized wing attached to the heel strap.
• The company’s dinosaur logo across the top, which WWD reports invokes Sinclair Oil, while the blue and orange scheme references Gulf’s iconic livery.
• Additional details including faux wheels, tire branding, and racing graphics that wrap around the rear of the shoe.

Release Details and Pricing

The Lightning McQueen Dinoco (style code 213582-90H) will be available through the official Crocs website and select retailers. While previous versions of the shoe were estimated around $60, Sneaker Bar Detroit reports the retail price for this anniversary edition is set at $80.

20th Anniversary Collection and Exclusives

The Dinoco release is part of a larger 20th anniversary project that brings multiple characters to the Classic Clog line. Sole Retriever reports that the collection also includes a purple pair based on Ramone, the candy-painted Chevy Impala lowrider voiced by Cheech Marin.

Unlike the Dinoco version, the Ramone clogs will be exclusive to attendees of Disney’s D23 fan convention in Anaheim. These exclusive shoes will be available August 14-16, 2026, at the Crocs booth. The Ramone design features flame graphic side panels, gold spoke rims, and a chain-link license plate reading “LOWNSLO.” Additionally, the Ramone pair includes a large spoiler on the strap with built-in taillights that light up when the wearer stomps.

History of Cars Collaborations

Crocs first utilized the Cars license in 2017, though those initial Lightning McQueen Classic Clogs were produced only in children’s sizes. The brand expanded into adult sizing in 2019, triggering a craze that led to chaotic store scenes and resale prices that reached several times the original cost. Since 2019, restocks of the red Lightning McQueen clogs have consistently sold out nearly every year.

The brand has continued to lean into motorsport themes, including a partnership with NASCAR and a recent collaboration with Oracle Red Bull Racing. The Red Bull collection, featuring a Crocband Clog with a front and rear wing and a helmet on the toe box, launched May 21, ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix weekend.
