Cross-country skiing: Nadine Fähndrich on the podium in Tallinn – rts.ch

Nadine Fähndrich made it onto the podium in the Tallinn sprint. The 27-year-old from Lucerne ranked 3rd in this race in skating and remains in the race for the specialty globe, the last event of which will be held on Saturday in Lahti.

Only the Norwegian Kristine Stavaas Skistad, who won for the 4th consecutive time, and the Swedish Jonna Sundling, world champion and Olympic champion, did better than the Swiss.

With her victories in Beitostölen, Davos and Val Müstair in December, Nadine Fähndrich had shown that she was one of the favorites in the sprint, regardless of technique. This podium in Estonia is her first in 2023. The young woman from Eigenthal had recently missed the mark in Drammen and Falun. In Norway she was stopped by a fall and in Sweden she was caught just before the finish line.

This sprint in town included 2 difficult climbs and this is where the Swiss, with Skistad and Sundling, was able to make the difference. As in Falun, Sundling fell behind in the home stretch. Nadine Fähndrich could not join the fight for victory. Among the men, Johannes Hösflot Klaebo was ahead of everyone. Janik Riebli and Roman Schaad reached the quarter-finals. Among the ladies, Lea Fischer and Alina Meier also succeeded.
