Crowdfunding for Housing Sees 16.7% Growth: Real Estate Murabaha Explained

Crowdfunding for housing, in particular in the form of real estate Murabaha, continued to grow at the end of June, with an increase of 16.7%, compared to the same period of the previous year, indicates Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

Thus, it stood at 20.3 billion dirhams (MMDH), following 17.4 billion dirhams a year earlier, according to the BAM “credits-bank deposits” dashboard.

Outstanding bank credit reached 1,075.7 billion dirhams for the first six months of 2023, an annual increase of 4.7%, said the Central Bank.

In detail, this outstanding amount is divided between non-financial agents with 916.1 billion dirhams (+1.1%) and financial agents 159.5 billion dirhams (+11.9%), specifies BAM.

In addition, BAM indicates that at the end of June loans to households recorded an annual increase of 2.9%, mainly covering increases of 2.4% in housing loans and 1.7% in the consumption.
