Cuba accepts deposits in US dollars after suspending it for two years

The Central Bank of Cuba agreed to link deposits to the US dollar, following a decision issued in 2021 to suspend them due to the US embargo imposed on them.

The decision issued by the Central Bank of Cuba stated that financial and banking institutions will accept cash deposits in US dollars in bank accounts.

The Central Bank of Cuba justified the move with the appropriate economic conditions, stressing the continuation of existing measures to prevent cash deposits in US dollars abroad.
