The attitude of the young employee of the e-commerce company was diametrically opposite to that of the Cuban tiktoker – also an Amazon worker – who refused to carry a package to the third floor claiming that it was too heavy and too hot.
“If they feel like it, they come and look for it down here,” he was heard saying in front of the camera while he continued to complain about the heat and the weight of the package.
His direct response was answered by another Cuban employee of the FedEx company, who taught the reluctant deliveryman a lesson.
“When the customer pays for a service, the service has to be completed by the driver or whoever. You can’t be afraid of work“explained the FedEx employee while he hoisted two boxes weighing about 35 pounds on his shoulders and carried them up stairs to a third floor.
“This is how it works in the United States, daddy, when the client pays you have to do the service as it is,” he said, “one on one shoulder and you grab the other as best you can and climb it,” he added.
The proliferation of Cuban employees in the Miami headquarters of these flourishing “delivery” companies inspired the influencer Christopher Gómez -known as Kristoff Kriollo-, who made a parody video on the subject.
Staging what the Cubans who work as Amazon delivery drivers are like, the influencer portrayed them as confident, daring, gossipy, talkative and some a little lazy to climb stairs.
According to Kristoff, Amazon delivery drivers – if they are Cubans – may ask you for a glass of water, offer you other services, tell you things about their lives or give their opinion about yours.
