Curiosity detects traces of water wave – La Nouvelle Tribune

For more than ten years, the robot Curiosity from NASA explore the planet Mars searching for clues to the existence of a past life form. In 2015, the robot discovered nitrogen on Mars, which aroused the interest of scientists. The photos collected by Curiosity go around the web and arouse particular enthusiasm for the red planet. As a reminder, according to some scientists, the planet Mars was at one time similar to Earth with a warm climate and abundant water.

Recently, the Curiosity robot made an exciting discovery in the region called “Marker Band“. Unearthed traces suggest that there were waves of water in this area, which is considered the best evidence past existence of water and lakes, the ultimate object of the mission. The next step for scientists will be to find soft rocks that can be further analyzed by Curiosity.

As a reminder, the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission is an exploration mission to the planet Mars led by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA) in collaboration with NASA. The Curiosity rover was launched on November 26, 2011 and touched down in Gale Crater on August 6, 2012. Curiosity’s continued discoveries on Mars are sparking the interest and imagination of scientists around the world, and promise new exciting discoveries in the near future.
