Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel pleaded guilty on Monday to assaulting two teenage girls in a hotel in Sydney and was fined 1,500 Australian dollars (1,000 francs).

The 27-year-old runner was arrested the night before the 2022 Worlds road race on Sunday in Wollongong, a queen event of which he was one of the big favorites. After taking the start, he gave up following regarding thirty kilometers.
