The morning of December 21, 2001.
Two masked criminals hit a cash transport vehicle in the underground parking lot of Kookmin Bank’s Dunsan branch in Daejeon.
The money bag in the cash transport vehicle was the target, and the perpetrators had a pistol.

“When I unload my cash bag, a masked person from behind fires a pistol into the sky saying, ‘Stop moving. Raise your hand’.”
Blank and three live rounds were fired, and a bank employee in his 40s who was carrying cash was killed.
The criminals stole a bag containing 300 million won in cash and fled in a car.
The car was found in the underground parking lot of a flower shop about 500 meters away from the scene, and the pistol used by the criminals was presumed to be a gun stolen by a police officer from a residential area in Songcheon-dong, Daejeon two months before the crime.

The police, who distributed the montage nationwide and started tracking them, arrested three suspects the following year, but were released after claiming that the suspects were false confessions made by police coercion, and the case fell into a labyrinth.
Then on the 25th, the Daejeon Police Agency’s regional investigation team caught two suspects for the first time in 21 years.
