DAIKIN is the top company that shows its concern for society, especially vulnerable workers in Indonesia. This was revealed by Zainudin as Director of Participation at the Employment Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) in Jakarta, Wednesday (20/03).
This statement refers to the social action carried out by the business group of this Japanese air conditioning solutions company, PT. Daikin Manufacturing Indonesia, in the form of providing employment social security for vulnerable working groups in Indonesia.
“DAIKIN’s concern has set a new record as the corporation with the largest contribution to vulnerable workers in Indonesia to date,” said Zainudin.
The provision of social security for vulnerable workers itself runs through the pillar of DAIKIN’s social initiative in Indonesia, Roda-Roda Ramadan. Previously, DAIKIN’s annual social agenda, which was held in the month of Ramadan, was carried out by providing packages of nine basic commodities to community groups in need around the area of DAIKIN representative offices throughout Indonesia. The shift in focus this year was motivated by more concern for social issues that are closer to the working economy.
“As workers outside the employment relationship or independent workers with minimal income levels, vulnerable worker groups have a high level of economic risk,” said Too Wee Yun, President Director of PT. Daikin Manufacturing Indonesia.
“The hope is that this social security employment support will provide happiness for vulnerable workers who are usually the backbone of the family economy,” he said again.

As a concrete manifestation, funds amounting to IDR 2.5 billion were distributed by PT. Daikin Manufacturing Indonesia supports the BPJS Employment program entitled Vulnerable Worker Protection Program. This financial support was then converted into work accident insurance and death insurance for 12,401 vulnerable workers in Indonesia.
Also present at the handover ceremony, Budi Mulia as director of PT. Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia and Giam Tee Kiat as President Director of PT. Daikin Applied Solutions Indonesia as the DAIKIN business group which focuses on product sales and after-sales services in Indonesia, expressed its support for this social action.
“This social contribution offsets the great trust of the Indonesian people which has made DAIKIN the main choice for air management solutions,” said Budi Mulia.
