KAI AUTHORITY noted that the number of users of mass train transportation was the highest on Thursday (11/4) in Daop 6 Yogyakarta. The number of passengers recorded was 23,682.
“The data was taken this morning (Thursday) at 10.00 WIB. The number of arrivals will still increase because today has not yet passed,” said Daop 6 Public Relations Manager, Krisbiyantoro.
Previously, the peak of homecoming traffic occurred on Saturday (6/4) with the number of passengers reaching 22,746. This number was still exceeded during the reverse flow period on the second day of Eid al-Fitr.
“With the shift in the peak of the homecoming flow, of course now the number of passengers arriving during the 2024 Eid transport period has become even,” he said.
He predicts that until the end of the 2024 Eid transport period on April 21 2024, the number of requests for return train tickets will still be high. This looks at train ticket occupancy data, both arrivals and departures.
Detailed data on passenger arrivals in the Daop 6 Yogyakarta area is 13,791 (March 31); 11,650 (April 1); 12,341 (April 2); 15,677 (April 3); 18,191 (April 4); 22,542 (April 5); 22,746 (April 6); 20,649 (April 7); 20,293 (April 8); 17,511 (April 9); 21,648 (April 10); 23,682 (April 11); 21,489 (April 12); and 19,932 (April 13).

“Most passengers coming to Daop 6 area are from Gambir, Pasarsenen, Kiaracondong and Surabaya Gubeng,” he said.
On the other hand, the number of departures was 21,909 (March 31); 12,900 (April 1); 11,393 (April 2); 13,497 (April 3); 17,598 (April 4); 24,045 (April 5); 23,491 (April 6); 20,234 (April 7); 19,863 (April 8); 14,591 (April 9); 14,355 (April 10); 19,063 (April 11); 20,823 (April 12); 22,075 (April 13); and 22,589 (April 14).
“We urge people who will travel on the reverse flow to plan their time well so they don’t run out of tickets until April 21 2024,” he said.

As for Daop 6, it was noted that several Daop 6 early departure trains still have seats available between 12 and 21 April 2024. This means that for certain relations or dates, seats on these trains are still available so there is a possibility that people can use them during the return flow for Eid 2024.
