The controversial comedian made the remarks during a performance at TD Garden on Thursday, the Wall Street Journal.

The comedian condemned the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, which has since resulted in more than 1,400 Israeli deaths.

Mr. Chappelle then denounced Israel’s “war crimes” in Gaza, which did not go down well with some in the audience.

He then lamented that some people had lost their jobs for supporting the Palestinians.

A member of the public then told the comedian to “shut up”, which immediately caused a commotion in the performance hall.

Mr. Chappelle instead went on to criticize the Israeli government’s decision to cut off food, water and electricity to Gaza.

He also accused Israel of killing innocent civilians and committing war crimes, according to the newspaper.

Spectators applauded and shouted “Free Palestine!”, while others replied “And Hamas?!”.
