Dawn of Defiance Gets Third Major Update ‘Hounds of Zeus

Three new Harpy bosses waiting in an elevated aerial arena and a freezing new mountain biome form the core of the third major content update for Dawn of Defiance, a mythological survival game developed by Traega Entertainment and published on PC by Fireshine Games.

Hounds of Zeus Brings Temple of Zeus Raid and Smolikas Expansion

Titled Hounds of Zeus, the update introduces the Temple of Zeus raid, where players take on the three Harpies in an elevated arena to earn high-tier gear.

Alongside this encounter, the Smolikas mountain region expands to include a sub-zero biome. Surviving this frigid zone requires active temperature management through food and fire. Distinct enemy types patrol the area, including Centaurs and upgraded Captain Commander soldier units, alongside puzzles and hidden secrets.

Enhancements to Volcanic Dungeon and Survival Mechanics

A new volcanic dungeon named Frostburn brings escalating combat intensity and mineable sulfur deposits to the map. Meanwhile, survival mechanics receive a thorough overhaul through revised status effect indicators and temperature systems.

Traega Entertainment also reworked farming and cooking mechanics by introducing new equipment and devices, while updating base building with fresh decorative options.

Unique Weapons, Armor Sets, and Level Cap Increase

Players gain access to three unique-tier weapons: the Shield of Dionysus, the Veiled Blade of Hermes, and the Mace of Zeus known as Voidstorm. The patch also adds Praetorian and Pathfinder armor sets alongside three distinct Unique-tier swords.

Character progression expands as the maximum skill level rises from 25 to 50. Players can further develop these attributes by interacting with an NPC named Platon located in the Dark Forest.

Dynamic Portals and Special Promotional Pricing

Navigation changes bring an updated portal system. These portals unlock progressively as characters advance through the game, allowing players to select destinations dynamically.

Following the initial release windows, the developer adjusted pricing structures, offering the title at a forty percent discount down to 1,380 yen through October 23.
