Video footage captured the dazzling moments of a meteor lighting up the sky before it fell to the ground in Australia, where it caused a huge bang.
The meteor lit up the Townsville area in far north Queensland, northeastern Australia.
Multiple shots taken from separate locations in the area showed a huge flash after the meteorite fell.
One of the residents, Brandon Scar, stated that he was saying goodbye to his friends in front of the house when they noticed the dazzling scene in the sky.
“We were in shock, because the darkness of the night literally turned into the light of day,” he added.
It is believed that the meteorite occurred somewhere in the far northwest of the state.
Falling meteorites are not uncommon here, so some considered that people who watched the video should count themselves lucky.
