Thrissur ∙ A young man died following being beaten up in a fight during a drinking party. Kavungal Dhanesh (36), a resident of Tsunami Colony in Vemballur, Sreenarayanapuram West, died. The incident started around 2 pm on Sunday. Dhanesh and his four friends were drinking at Dhanesh’s house when one of the friends got into a fight. The two had an argument following the other three had left.
In the evening, Dhanesh along with others went to the nearby toddy shop in search of this friend. The police, who came to know regarding the ruckus, took three people into custody except Dhanesh. Dhanesh, who was injured, was also asked to go to the hospital. But at half past five, Dhanesh was found on the side of the road.
Police reached Kodungallur Taluk Hospital but might not save his life. Police informed that the cause of death will be known only following getting the postmortem report. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
