One dead and three injured, one of whom is in serious condition, is the toll from the tragic accident which occurred early on Wednesday morning on the Flaminia highway which runs alongside the municipality of Cantiano in the Pesaro area. A 59-year-old man from Rimini who was behind the wheel of a van for transporting frozen food lost his life. The crash occurred around 7 am and, from the first reconstructions, it seems that the victim’s vehicle suddenly began to skid and then crashed head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction with the two vehicles which, after the impact, involved also an Audi with 2 passengers on board.
The alarm went off which made the 118 and fire brigade staff rush in and the medical helicopter was also sent flying with the first responders who, unfortunately, were unable to do anything for the man from Rimini with the doctor who took care of him. declared dead. The driver of the truck was seriously injured and, after being stabilized, was transferred by helicopter to the Torrette hospital in Ancona. However, the truck driver’s son who was next to his father in the driving cab was unharmed. However, the two people on board the Audi suffered minor injuries.
To allow rescue operations and carry out the usual investigations, the Flaminia highway in the Cantiano section was closed by Traffic Police personnel who will have to accurately reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
