Behind this action, the group wishes to promote reverse shopping, that is to say the fact of being able to resell old or unused sporting goods to Decathlon so that they can be repaired and resold under warranty. “The goal is to reuse as much equipment as possible to reduce the impact on our environment and avoid waste. Decathlon’s second-hand offer also allows less fortunate consumers to buy quality sports equipment at a lower price.“, says the brand in its press release.
Decathlon bought some 26,000 sporting goods this year during the test phase.
Even sporting goods that were not purchased from the chain store can be resold for vouchers.
