Right now, at Decathlon, it’s raining electric bikes! After the recent additions of the E-EXPL 520 and 720 to its catalog, the French brand is doing it again with the Stilus E-Touring, which is none other than a VTC powered by a Bosch central motor.
Decathlon and the madness of electric bikes
The Decathlon range of bicycles is renowned for offering a wide variety of products suitable for different types of cyclists. However, and despite its desire to rationalize its offer, the French brand continues to release new products. After the arrivals of the Rockrider E-EXPL 520 and the Rockrider E-EXPL 720, it is now the turn of the Stilus E-Touring to find a place in the catalog of the large distribution company. The latter, which is none other than a top-of-the-range hybrid bike, is a versatile proposition that joins the Stilus sub-brand, normally dedicated to premium mountain bikes – rather than integrating with Riverside, Decathlon’s popular hybrid bikes. A choice that creates a small imbroglio among cycling enthusiasts and brand enthusiasts.
Nevertheless, despite these uncertainties, the Stilus E-Touring offers some serious features that make it an attractive choice for cyclists. Features 29 inch wheels with Schwalbe Al Grounder tires, the VTC is suitable for different types of terrain, although its lack of suspension can affect comfort on some bumpier paths. Besides that, it has fixing points favorable for bikepacking and touring, as well as a rear rack for panniers. But its biggest asset is undoubtedly its Bosch engine..

In terms of motorization, as we explained to you above, the Stilus E-Touring is equipped with a Bosch Performance Line CX mid-motor, recognized for its performance with its 85 Nm of torque. There removable 750 Wh battery, integrated into the frame, offers a range of 130 km under normal conditions. THE counter Bosch Kiox and the 10-speed transmission complete the ecosystem of the bike, and further enhance its versatility. In terms of price, the Stilus E-Touring is offered at 3 499€placing it in the relatively high range of the market.
