Defeated in Sudan (0-1) Gabon retains the lead in Group I –

Gabon has not confirmed its success last Thursday at the Renovation stadium in Franceville. Patrice Neveu’s men lost (0-1) to Sudan in the second leg of the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2023) qualifiers, the final phase of which will be played in Côte d’Ivoire.

Despite this defeat, Gabon with 7 points remains the leader of group I ahead of Sudan (6 points). DR Congo and Mauritania face each other on Tuesday in Mauritania. In case of victory, the DRC will total 6 points tied with Sudan.

Mauritania has 1 point following 3 games.
