Four electoral alliances and one political party registered candidacies for the Chubut gubernatorial elections on July 30, after the expiration of the term for the presentation of lists established by the Provincial Electoral Tribunal.

The “Arriba Chubut” front, made up of 8 parties with an axis in the justicialismo, registered for governor and vice to the formula integrated by the mayor of Comodoro Rivadavia, Juan Pablo Luqueand the current lieutenant governor and former mayor of Puerto Madryn, Ricardo Sastre.

The Luque-Sastre formula is endorsed by a coalition made up of the Justicialista Party, the Renovation Front, the Victory Party, the Authentic Socialist Party, First Chubut, Chubut Somos Todos, For Culture, Education and Work and the municipal party Nuevo Encuentro de El Hoyo.

The “Together for Change Chubut” alliance, made up of the Radical Civic Union (UCR) and Republican Proposal, will take as candidate for governor the current national senator of the PRO Ignacio Torres, who will go to the polls accompanied by the former national deputy and radical leader Gustavo Menna.

The alliance “For Chubutense Independent Liberty”, which is in a column with the candidacy of Javier Milei at the national level, registered the formula integrated by the businessman César Treffinger for governor and the commissioner Laura Mirantes for vice.

This last alliance is made up of the party “Citizens for Chubut” and the “Chubutense Independent Party”.

The other alliance that registered candidacies is the Left Front, made up of el “Movimiento Socialista de los Trabajadores y el FIT-Unidad” that leads Emilse Saavedra-Julieta Rusconi as candidates for governor and vice.

The only political party that presented a formula outside the alliances is “Generation for a National Meeting” (GEN), headed by Oscar Petersen for the governorship and accompanied by Nancy Lobos.

The electoral secretary, Adriana Villani, told Télam that “now begins a review stage of all the documentation presented by the parties to advance in the officialization of the lists, what we hope to complete in the next few days because the schedule has very limited deadlines.

The general elections in Chubut will be held on July 30 for the categories governor and vice, provincial deputies, mayor and councilors in 24 towns; except Trelew, which already had municipal elections on April 16, and Corcovado, which will go to the national ones.
