New Delhi: Gujarat Titans have a target of 225 runs against Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Captain Rishabh Pant and Akshar Patel scored half-centuries for the Capitals. Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten with 88 runs from 43 balls while Akshar Patel scored 66 runs from 43 balls. Sandeep Warrier took 3 wickets, conceding 15 runs in 3 overs for the Titans. Delhi scored 224 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
After losing the toss, the Capitals got off to a rough start. They lost the first matches while adding 36 points to the scoreboard. Prithvi Shah returned with 11 points and Jake Fraser with 23 points. Sandeep Warrier entrusted them both to Noor Ahmed. Sandeep himself took Shai Hope to Rashid Khan who scored 5 runs. With this, the Capitals were 44 for 3. Then, Akshar Patel and Rishabh Pant, who came together at the crease, took Delhi out of the crisis.
Pant and Akshar Patel put together a 113-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Akshar was dismissed in the 17th over by Noor Ahmed who broke that partnership. The player scored 66 runs with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Tristan Stubbs, who smashed in the final overs, combined with the ball to take the team’s score beyond 200. Stubbs scored 26 runs off 7 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Pant scored 88 runs including 5 fours and 8 sixes. The Capitals scored 31 runs only in the last over bowled by Mohit Sharma.
