Demand for the Social Worker Ticket skyrocketed

The demand for the Social Worker Ticket (BOS) has increased drastically so far in 2024. It is a provincial government program that subsidizes the demand for public transportation with a 50% discount and between January and February it registers 168% more beneficiaries than in all of 2023.

According to data provided by the Provincial Transportation Secretariat, the BOS already has 9,930 registered users in the first weeks of this year, while it closed 2023 with only 3,710 registered.

The analysis carried out by the provincial government is simple: it is the direct effect of the strong increases in urban and interurban transportation, a product of the increases in operating costs and the elimination of national subsidies decided by the president, Javier Milei. .

The ticket prices for the capital’s urban system have increased by 191% since the beginning of the month, while the provincial interurban system has increased by 188% since mid-January. Thus, the fare in Córdoba remained at $700, which implies a monthly expense of more than $30 thousand for a daily user.

In the case of the interurban, 44 monthly trips (two per day, for 22 business days), has a floor of $60 thousand for a user who travels daily from Villa Allende to the Capital, more than $100 thousand for those who travel from Villa Carlos Paz, and $107 thousand for daily users who live in Alta Gracia.

On this point, several companies offer discounts of up to 30% to frequent users.

With the Boleto Obrero, users get a 50% discount on the ticket price.

Who can obtain the Social Worker Ticket

The BOS is intended for dependent workers domiciled in the province of Córdoba, single-tax workers and people who are unemployed, according to the specified conditions and requirements. BOS beneficiaries will pay 50% of the current rate at the time of managing the benefit.

Workers in a dependency relationship may not exceed $298,800 in gross salary (not including family allowances), and monotributistas of category A, B, C and D must have two years of seniority in Monotributo.

The benefit is granted to those people who travel up to 60 kilometers to get to their workplace, it is personal and non-transferable and consists of two daily discounts.

To manage it, you need a Cidi level 2 user at cidi.cba.gov.ar or at the nearest Identity Verification Center (CCI). In the Capital, there are in the Bus Terminal, in the Civic Center and in 11 other places, which can be found at this link.

In the case of workers who belong to a private entity, their employer must register them on thetrabajo.cba.gov.ar website.
