The National Education Union, affiliated with the Democratic Confederation of Labor in the eastern region, called for: “Accelerating the resolution of the file of the arrested professors, dusting it off, and breaking the terrible wall of silence that surrounds it, in order to clear the atmosphere and provide all the conditions for students’ achievement and professional practice away from anxiety and tension, by returning all the detained men and women.” To their workplaces without restriction or condition, with rehabilitation given to them.”

The National Education Union threatened in a statement to resume what it called “exhibitions and struggles to put an end to the suffering of the detainees, if the ministry continues to be stubborn in returning them.”
The union itself considered the arrested professors to be victims of score-settling, and victims of a repressive policy whose ultimate goal is to humiliate, subjugate, and stifle the honorable voices defending the issues of the nation and citizens, most notably the public school. And their families, students, parents and guardians.”
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports returned half of the suspended professors to their workplaces, directing them to penalties of warning and reprimand, while the fate of about 200 male and female professors remained pending after they were referred to the regional committees created for this purpose.
