In regards to the participation of a new small business through a private contract in the remodeling of the presidential office in Yongsan, Seoul, the Democratic Party is continuing the offensive every day, saying, “Clarify the clear selection criteria.”

In a written briefing today, Democratic Party spokesman Cho Oh-seop said, “The ambiguity of the presidential office cannot erase the suspicion of a suspicious private contract.”

Spokesperson Cho said, “According to the media reports, most of the presidential office remodeling work was ordered by the Secret Service, but only the controversial ground glass work was directly selected by the secretariat. This is the biggest,” he pointed out.

He continued, “I heard the urgency of the presidential office as the reason for entrusting the construction to the company in question, but it doesn’t make sense to only consider the urgency while constructing the presidential office.” should have taken precedence,” he said.

Spokesperson Cho said, “It is common sense to select an existing company that has already undergone a security review rather than a new one, but it is the opposite of common sense.” We hope that you will be transparent about whether urgency instead of security has become the criterion for selecting a company.”

Previously, the presidential office signed a contract with a company located in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do for ‘improving the office space environment in the government building’ worth 680 million won. It is known as a small business with only two technical personnel, and the background of the selection is controversial.
