Demography: Martinique lags behind at the national level

Martinique lost 20,100 inhabitants between 2015 and 2021, according to an INSEE study published Thursday December 28. Under the effect of sustained emigration, the rate of depopulation of our island accelerated to reach 0.9% on average per year over this period, compared to an annual decrease of 0.7% per year between 2010 and 2015. And this, while the French population continues to increase.
