Denmark promises Ukraine a new military aid package

Ukrainian public broadcaster “Suspilne” said that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen made the announcement during a meeting of Nordic leaders with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Oslo.

“We have now reached a crucial point. We must ensure that Ukraine has everything it needs to continue the fight. This applies today, tomorrow and for years to come. [Rusijos prezidentas Vladimiras] Putin must know that he cannot win this war. We stand firmly on the side of Ukraine”, stressed M. Frederiksen.

For his part, V. Zelensky said on the Telegram social network: “During our meeting, I thanked Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen for Denmark’s military aid, including the recent large package, as well as her support in rebuilding Mykolaiv, establishing the Ukraine Support Fund and leading the aviation coalition.”

“Long-term support, unity and strength are the keys to defeating Russian aggression in Ukraine.” I am grateful to Denmark for supporting these common goals and working with us to achieve a just peace,” he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, V. Zelensky arrived in Norway on an unannounced visit to participate in the Nordic summit and meet separately with the country’s prime minister.
