Dr. Marai Al-Qahtani inaugurating the convoy
Yesterday, His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Dr. Marai bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, inaugurated the fourth dental awareness convoy, in the presence of university deans, deans of health colleges, and employees of the College of Dentistry and the Smile Club, in the lobby of the university’s administrative tower.
His Excellency the University President toured the exhibition prepared for the convoy, which included introductory sections on dental health, educational information, and a clinic to examine dental health. Listening to an explanation by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Nisreen Al-Bar, regarding the convoy, which is organized by the college, represented by the Smile Club and the Community Service Unit. Dr. Al-Bar indicated that the caravan, which will last for 6 weeks, includes 69 students, an honors doctor, 9 administrators, and 9 faculty members, and 252 male and female students and 53 faculty members volunteer in it. It aims to visit 18 educational, health, and governmental non-profit bodies and visit 109 sites in the Jazan region. In turn, the head of the Community Service Unit at the College of Dentistry, Dr. Musa Shabir, stated that the convoys provide distinctive therapeutic and awareness services to community members to raise community awareness regarding dental diseases and ways to prevent them.
