How do the NBA playoffs work?
The NBA playoffs are the most exciting and decisive phase of the season, where the best teams in the Eastern and Western Conference compete for the title of champion. To qualify, the top 10 teams in each conference face each other in the regular season, and the leaders and vice-leaders advance directly to the playoffs. The other six teams from each conference are ranked 1 through 6 based on their regular season performance.
The seeding of the playoffs is determined according to each team’s position in the table, and follows an elimination format in a best of seven games. The first round pits the 1st against the 8th, the 2nd against the 7th, the 3rd against the 6th and the 4th against the 5th.
