Deolipa Considered Defamation of Religion
The report was registered with the number LP/2089/IX/2022/RJS dated Friday, September 2, 2022, by a YouTuber, Yonatan Nandar. In his report, Yonatan Nandar reported Deolipa Yumara on charges of blasphemy and hate speech with SARA nuances.
“On the occasion of this happy afternoon, I report Deolipa Yumara on allegations of abuse of religious blasphemy, hate speech containing SARA as regulated in Article 156a of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 2 of Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning the ITE Law,” said Yonatan Nandar to reporters at the Jakarta Metro Police. Jonathan considered Deolipa’s words asking Angel Lelga to repent and return to the ‘first God’ as a blasphemy. He said it was the statement that underlies the Indonesian Activist Alliance group to file the report. Angel Lelga is known to be a convert to Islam.
“If she (Deolipa) says ‘repent and return to your original God’, it means that my religion is wrong? he said.
